Many thanks to T. Gaynord. She ordered the three custom rosaries below.  Her ideas were wonderful and a terrific challenge for me!  Her rosaries included beautiful vintage photos of her mother and father, and original Centerpiece paintings of Caridad del Cobre (Our Lady of Charity) - Patroness of Cuba and the Cuban Flag.  Her ideas were completely unique to the rosaries I have made in the past, and I truly hope they will be keepsake pieces in her family always.

A special "Thank You" to St. Rose of Lima Catholic School, Houston, TX. This rosary was made especially for them to raise funds for their school. All the best to them!

St. Rose of Lima, Peru was a visionary who led a life of tremendous devotion to Our Lord and Our Lady. The symbols in this rosary mean:

  • The Sacred Heart is a reminder of Jesus’ dying for our sins; sins that ultimately pierced His physical Heart.
  • The Butterfly represents the Resurrection, the hope that we will all rise as Jesus did to live with God, Our Father.
  • The Dove is a sign of the Holy Spirit; the Fire that will fill our souls and give us the courage to share our love for Jesus with others.
  • The Clover is the symbol St. Patrick used to explain the Holy Trinity.
  • The Chalice and Host represent The Holy Eucharist or Holy Communion.
  • The Pax symbol (P with x). Pax is the Latin word for peace. May peace be with you.
  • The Red Rose represents not only St. Rose, but beauty, purity and love.
  • The Guitar. In a life filled with so much pain and affliction, St. Rose enjoyed flowers and playing the guitar.
  • The Dragonflies (Crucifix and “Our Father” beads) are thought of as messengers. They also symbolize the Cross.

The gemstones used in this rosary include carved bone, rainbow jasper, aventurine, tigers eye, golden jade and howlite. Among these stones, their healing and spiritual significance includes an increase in perception, vision, inspiration, strength, security and stability. Most of these gemstones are referenced throughout religious history.
